Man Free On Bond For Capital Murder Arrested For Armed Robbery In Spring

The revolving door at the Harris County Courthouse continues.

Police bringing in the criminals and the judges let them out – repeatedly.

Back in 2018, Roderick Coffman was arrested for murder

Coffman and another man shot and killed 56-year-old Russell Eugene Hamm during an attempted robbery.

Coffman was released on $150,000 bond which had been reduced from $200,000 by the 208th District Court.

That case in the 208th District Court in Harris County has been reset several times in the three years since.

Now Coffman, 23, was arrested in Spring after officers found him in a vehicle suspected to be involved in a robbery.

According to Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman, “responding Constable Deputies located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The passenger was detained and identified as Roderick Coffman who was found to be in possession of $3,015.00 in U.S. Currency, which was recovered and returned to the Walgreens Store.”

He has been charged with robbery and violation of his bond.

Responding Constable Deputies located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The passenger was detained and identified as Roderick Coffman who was found to be in possession of $3,015.00 in U.S. Currency, which was recovered and returned to the Walgreens Store.

Further investigation revealed that he was out on bond for Capital Murder.
