Listen To Our Interview From This Afternoon: Johan Norberg

Johan Norberg, a popular Swedish author, editor, Cato Senior Fellow and executive editor at Free To Choose Media, has a new documentary, Sweden: Lessons For America?

The one-hour program responds to the popular claim that the U.S. should be more like Sweden. So, what do we know about Sweden’s economic journey? “If Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez managed to make America more like Sweden, the U.S. would have more free trade, pension reform, school vouchers, low corporate taxes and no taxes on wealth, property and inheritance. In other words, their image of Sweden is stuck in 1975. Sweden has been drastically liberalized since then,” said Norberg.

The program illuminates key ideas and enterprises that sparked this liberalization and continue to help Sweden maintain its lofty economic position, including freedom of the press, free trade, and new technology companies. He reveals that while there are lessons to be learned from Sweden, they may not be the lessons one would expect. A film trailer and press information, including Norberg’s bio, can be found at www.swedenlessonsforamericafilm.com

The documentary will start streaming on www.freetochoose.tv this Friday, Sept. 21 and airing nationwide on public television stations Oct. 29.
