Why do they have to be more than friends?

Imagine seeing the world as entirely political. Only politics. Love, art, movies, cars: all political. This is the world of the postmodernist, which we see in the Social Justice movement. The personal is political. And the political is personal. Everything they see has some political meaning. Like cartoons, as we saw with recent gender obsessions with Thomas the Tank Engine. Or sports.

Or food. Everything the social justice driven postmodernist sees is inherently political. Video games are taking a hit lately, too. And, usually, the people who throw these tantrums to insist that there be handicapped women in a "historically accurate" video game about World War 2 or people who throw a fit that there aren't enough pansexual women of color on Thomas the Tank Engine, usually they don't even play video games or watch cartoons. They just feel a need to impose their view on every aspect of life.

So, at this point, it was no surprise to hear news that a writer from Sesame Street claims that Bert and Ernie are gay lovers. Sesame Street, a show for children, about counting, has been sexually used, in an act of political arrogance.

Mark Saltzman, who wrote for the show from 1984 to 1998, said during an interview with something called "Queerty," that he always considered Bert and Ernie a "loving couple."

He even mentions that, one time, a kindergartener asked him about it—we can assume this is an example of a recent phenomenon called "woke kids," where adults ascribe adult ideas, usually about President Trump, to children, as if to say, "See this idea is so pure and right that children get it," when, in reality, the idea comes from a self-righteous person who is politicizing children; although we cannot confirm that in this case.

Saltzman, who is gay, said:

I always felt that without a huge agenda, when I was writing Bert & Ernie, they were. I didn't have any other way to contextualize them. The other thing was, more than one person referred to Arnie & I as 'Bert & Ernie.'

Thank God that officials from Sesame Street stepped in with some sanity. Their statement:

As we have always said, Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most 'Sesame Street' Muppets do), they remain puppets, and do not have sexual orientation.

In other news, a transgender stripper is claiming that Wheaties are pansexual. More on that later.
